The Benefit of a Guarantee over a Warranty
The main difference between a guarantee and a warranty is that a guarantee is usually free, whereas a warranty typically includes a premium for the cover, much like a form of insurance. The great thing about a guarantee is that it is legally binding and adds to your rights under consumer law.
The Worcester Bosch Guarantee
For example, a boiler must legally come with a minimum of 2 years cover, but Worcester Bosch offer 5 years as standard. However, this can be extended to 7 years if your new boiler is fitted with a Worcester Bosch Greenstar filter. Even better, if your new Worcester Bosch boiler and Greenstar filter is fitted by Millhouses Plumbing and Heating Services who are Gold Worcester Accredited Installers, your Worcester Bosch guarantee can be extended up to 10 years. Not Just a Boiler Guarantee
Other differences include the fact that warranties sometimes only cover certain parts of a product. A good example of this is when you take out a warranty on a new or used car, only to find that tyres, brake pads and other items are not covered. Warranties also entitle manufacturers to charge for call outs, which can be an unwanted and unexpected expense. In contrast guarantees typically cover the whole product.
To provide extra protection to our homeowners Worcester Bosch also extends its boiler guarantees to cover any other Worcester Bosch products installed at the same time. For example, if Millhouses Plumbing and Heating Services install a Worcester Bosch control or filter at the same time as your new boiler, you will also receive up to a 10 year guarantee on these items as well, despite only normally having a 2 year guarantee on them if they were installed individually.
